Matteo Lepore, the mayor of Bologna, has decided to suspend the Bologna-Milan match scheduled for Saturday due to the floods in the city, especially in the area where the Renato Dall'Ara stadium is located.

The match between Bologna and Milan, two Champions League teams due to meet on Saturday in Serie A, will not be played by decree of the city's mayor, Matteo Lepore.
Heavy flooding in the municipality, especially in the Porto-Saragozza area, where the Renato Dall'Ara stadium is located, has prompted Lepore to issue an ordinance ordering the match to be called off.
'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reported that there were three possible scenarios: play the match behind closed doors, play it in a neutral stadium or give the three points directly to Milan. Finally, after Bologna's refusal to any of the proposals, the match has been postponed.
Both Serie A and the mayor and representatives of both clubs met and an agreement was reached for the postponement of the match, which will have to be in 2025 due to the tight schedule.
"It is an incomprehensible decision. The mayor has forbidden the match to be played behind closed doors and I still don't know why," said Milan president Paolo Scaroni after the meeting.
"It is the wisest thing to do because it allows us to maintain the revenue from the match. It was agreed that part of it would go to the families affected by the floods," said Bologna CEO Claudio Fenuci.
The only thing that remains clear is that the match between Bologna and Milan will not take place on Saturday and a date, presumably in February 2025, is already being sought for the match.
