Brahim Diaz has come to the end of his chapter at the San Siro, but will start afresh at the Santiago Bernabeu on July 1st. Milan's '10' brought tears to fans' eyes in a farewell video, after three seasons together.
The Spaniard posted a moving video on Sunday to his Instagram profile with a caption in Italian, that read: "Dear Milan, today I have to say goodbye and thank you for all the moments we've had together. I knew this was a special place from the first time I put on this jersey".
Brahim Diaz praised Milan's dedicated fanbase: "You are the best. With your support and your impetus, you pushed us to our best in matches. Your chants and your energy have made every moment on the pitch unforgettable".
The '10' will leave Serie A with the memory of conquering the league last season and helping his team to reach the Champions League semi-finals this year, where they lost out to local rivals Inter Milan.
Brahim Diaz thanked his teammates, members of the coaching staff, management and fans: "I will always carry you in my heart. You have been my family, because we have shared laughs, tears and successes".
The 23-year-old will play for Real Madrid 2023-24 under Carlo Ancelotti. He and Fran Garcia are the first two official moves by the club just days before the start of the transfer window.
