Antoine Griezmann announced his retirement from international football on Monday morning after the Madrid derby. The player hangs up his boots as the 3rd most capped player in the world, tied with Olivier Giroud.

On Monday morning after the Madrid derby that ended in a draw at the Civitas Metropolitano, Antoine Griezmann confirmed his retirement from international football after a 10-year career with the French national team.
“It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolor adventure and see you soon," posted Griezmann on his Twitter account.
The Atletico Madrid player revealed the news on Monday morning ahead of Les Bleus' upcoming October international break against Israel and Belgium.
Griezmann played in six major tournaments for France, including a leading role in their 2018 World Cup victory, as well as in their run to the 2022 final in Qatar.
The former Barcelona and Real Sociedad player ends his international career having played 137 times for France and scored 44 goals.
