Kylian Mbappe told 'AFP' in a statement that he had "never discussed a contract extension with PSG", the day after he announced that he would not extend his contract with the club until 2025.

Paris Saint-Germain's French star Kylian Mbappe informed his club in a letter on Monday that he would not be extending his contract until 2025, according to a source close to the negotiations.
This has emerged just over a year after the 24-year-old's surprise extension at PSG, his club since 2017. The FIFA World Cup runner-up, who was being targeted by Real Madrid, had extended his contract until 2024, with the possibility of activating an option for a further year.
Just 24 hours after the news broke, which angered PSG, the France international assured 'AFP' that he had 'never discussed a contract extension' with his club.
The letter sent by Mbappe announcing his decision not to extend his contract until 2025 was written on 15th July 2022, almost a year ago.
The official statement from the PSG No. 7, via 'AFP': "PSG's board of directors has been informed since 15th July 2022 of my decision not to extend my contract beyond 2024, and the letter sent was simply intended to confirm what I had already told them.
The French capital club's all-time top scorer, currently in Clairefontaine with 'Les Bleus', continues to send out messages via the press.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are still waiting to see how the situation with the former Monaco player develops. Florentino Perez could make an unexpected move and instead of waiting to sign the player for free in 2024, make a big offer for him and bring him a year earlier than expected to the Santiago Bernabeu.
