Real Madrid announced on Sudnay morning that Vinicius Junior suffered a neck injury in the La Liga match against Villareal on Saturday. The forward is not expected to to play with Brazil during the upcoming international break as a result.

After confirming Carvajal's serious ACL injury, Real Madrid have also announced on Sunday that Vinicius Junior has suffered a neck injury in their 2-0 win over Villareal at the Bernabeu. The Brazilian underwent medical examinations in the morning, as Ancelotti confirmed he was experiencing discomfort in the neck.
The club's official statement reads the following: "Following tests carried out on Vinicius Junior, the player has been diagnosed with a cervical injury. His progress will be monitored."
Following the injury, the forward is not expected to feature in Brazil's squad during upcoming the international break, as Real Madrid have stated that he will need to rest to recover in the best way possible.
Despite the injury, Vinicius Jr - tipped to take home the Ballon d'Or this month - scored in Saturday's clash against Villareal to seal the win for 'Los Blancos' and send them joint-top of La Liga with Barcelona.
