Brighton & Hove Albion's Brazilian defender Igor Julio will miss the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury.
The center-back, who has made 15 appearances for the Seagulls this season, picked up the injury in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Arsenal on January 4. The player had to undergo surgery and will not play again until next season.
“Igor will be out for the rest of the season. It was a hamstring injury, he has needed surgery, so it was serious,” his coach Fabian Hürzeler said on Tuesday.
Brighton paid around €17 million to Fiorentina for Igor Julio in the summer of 2023 and he has since made 48 appearances between all competitions for the southern English side.
