Bryan Gil was called up by Luis de la Fuente for the matches against Denmark and Switzerland in the Nations League after Lamine Yamal's ankle injury was confirmed. At La Roja's training camp, he wished the Barcelona striker a speedy recovery. "I hope Lamine gets better and is well as soon as possible, I send him my support and my strength," he said.
"For me, it's a pleasure to be back in the national team and I'm going to enjoy it," added the Girona winger. Elsewhere, Marc Casado and Aitor Paredes are two of the new additions to the squad and were delighted to be making their first appearance for the national team.
"I was at home waiting and I thought the coach was going live to give the names one by one. When I saw my name on the video, I was very happy. I'm very happy," he told the media at the Federation. "It's an award that shows that I'm doing well at the club. I'm happy to be here: now, to get used to my new team-mates, I'm looking forward to meeting them," said Paredes.
