Ruben Amorim takes over as manager of Manchester United from today and before he arrives he has already received praise from several players in his squad, with Casemiro praising his arrival as a ‘serial winner’.
Amorim in his short coaching career won six titles in five seasons at Braga, in 2021 he led Sporting CP to the title after 19 years without silverware and this season before joining Old Trafford he had 11 matches with 11 wins in the Portuguese league.
“We’ve not spoken, but everyone speaks so well of him. Above all, he is very true, very loyal. We cannot ignore how he has changed Sporting. We know that Sporting won many titles, he changed the club with titles, with trophies. He has already proved that he is a coach who has won a lot,” said Casemiro.
“I think there’s going to be a good template, that everyone wants to grow, everyone wants to learn. I think that’s the way to first help us grow to be at the top of the table," he added.
Amorim arrives at Old Trafford with the task of turning around the fortunes of Manchester United, who have struggled in the Premier League in recent years under Erik ten Hag, although under the interim manager they seem to have received a breath of fresh air as the Dutchman has led them to three wins in four games and an unbeaten run.
