Chelsea want to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton at all costs. Roberto De Zerbi, who coaches the Seagulls, said on Saturday that they could negotiate a swap deal with Levi Colwill.
The English centre-back spent last season on loan at the AMEX and both the board and the Italian manager were delighted with his performances. However, the 20-year-old had to return to Stamford Bridge.
As a result, Colwill has been heavily linked with a move to Brighton but Mauricio Pochettino denied rumours of his departure after the 4-3 win over De Zerbi's side.
"We don't need to make a statement about nothing. He's our player and he's going to continue with us. I am happy with him, his performance was good today, better than what I expected because it's only the first game with us after the season in Brighton.
"I think he can be one of the greatest centre-backs in England. He is going to be part of our team," he concluded.
