Cole Palmer, the best player of the last Premier League and one of the most, if not the most, decisive player in Chelsea's squad will not play in the Conference League. Or at least, he will not play the league phase.
The Blues have decided to leave the former Manchester City player out of the European competition. The club understands that in this way he avoids six games in a very long season that will end with the Club World Cup.
Palmer is not the only first-team player to be left out of the Conference League squad. Maresca has also ruled out Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia.
The three players will not be available for the league phase, in which the Blues will play six matches. After that, they will be available for the title play-offs, provided the Londoners make it through.
