Chelsea players informed of Pochettino sacking by WhatsApp

Mauricio Pochettino has left Chelsea after just one season in charge by mutual consent, the English club announced on Tuesday. He was popular with Chelsea's players, who appreciated his public support of them during their struggles and took to social media to hail him after his dismissal.
According to 'The Telegraph', most of the players heard the news of Pochettino's sacking via the WhatsApp group and many of them were shocked by the news, especially given the good results in recent weeks, with the five consecutive wins to finish the Premier League and seal sixth place, which gives access to Europe next season.
Most Chelsea players thought a strong finish to the season would see Pochettino continue in the second year of his contract, but a meeting on Monday between the manager, Chelsea officials and board precipitated his departure less than a year after he was hired at Stamford Bridge.
