Chelsea target PSG's Paredes as Caicedo alternative
As Chelsea appear to be reaching a stalemate with Brighton over midfielder Moises Caicedo, the 'Evening Standard' reports that they have turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes. The Argentinian played under Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino during the latter's brief stint in Paris and they could be looking to reunite next season.

It's not secret that Chelsea are getting frustrated with Brighton. The Seagulls rejected a third bid for midfielder Moises Caicedo last week, this time for €93 million, and the Blues are beginning to turn their attention elsewhere, as Brighton aren't willing to lower their valuation.
According to the 'Evening Standard', Mauricio Pochettino's side are starting to contemplate other options to boost their midfield, and one name that has cropped up on their radar is Leandro Paredes.
The Argentinian has returned to Paris Saint-Germain after spending last season on loan at Juventus, and is entering the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes, which means he could be available at a reasonable price, reports the aforementioned outlet.
A move would see him reunite with Chelsea's new manager, as the Argentinian international played under his compatriot during Pochettino's brief chapter at PSG. The 29-year-old would also add some experience to a Blues squad that has signed a host of young players this summer.
