Mohammed Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax in the summer transfer window and is making an impact at the London Stadium, scoring two goals in eight competitive matches this campaign.
The 23-year-old was being targeted by several top clubs but decided to join the Hammers for £38 million. Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal were interested in his services but negotiations did not come to fruition.
His agent Jen Mendelewitsch revealed in an interview that Chelsea also made a move for the Ghanaian but that their offer was "ridiculous".
"We reached an agreement with Chelsea, we agreed the contract with Chelsea but the deal was not done. He talked with the coach but in the end it didn't happen because Chelsea made a ridiculous offer to Ajax," she told 'RMC Sport'.
"There was no counter offer. Chelsea did this with lots of players this summer, making very low offers to clubs knowing that they would not be accepted," she added.
