Chelsea's 6-1 second-leg semi-final thrashing of Championship club Middlesbrough in the League Cup took them into a Wembley final against Liverpool on February 25.
The Blues lost both the 2022 FA and League Cup finals to Liverpool and they are now bidding for their first trophy since lifting that year's Club World Cup.
Liverpool are competing on four fronts this season, with Klopp's men two points clear at the top of the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Europa League. However, the Reds may not be comfortable enough in the final at Wembley against the Blues.
The Carabao Cup announced on Wednesday that Chris Kavanagh will be in charge of the match between the two English clubs while John Brooks will be leading the VAR. Klopp has already had several disagreements with Kavanagh in previous matches against Arsenal and Everton, among others.
The German coach did not agree with some of the referee's decisions in his matches but will have to be patient in his next EFL Cup game.
