Como will treat Napoli fans with beer in the Serie A away-leg

Following the match between Napoli and Como on Friday, the newly-promoted side announced that every Napoli fan travelling for the return leg at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigagli will be treated with a free beer. The gesture from Como was thought as a means to thank the opponent fans for their display of sportsmanship after the game.

Como fell to defeat against Napoli after a hard-fought display on Friday, which saw them lose 3-1 with goals from Scott McTominay, Gabriel Strefezza, Romelu Lukaku and David Neres. However, entertainement did not only come from the pitch, but also from the stands as fans from both ends contributed to a great atmosphere at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
The newly-promoted Italian side announced on Monday that for the return leg at Como in February, Napoli fans will be treated with a free beer at the stadium. The initiative was brought forward by Como as a means to thank the opponent supporters for their display of sportmanship throughout the game.
"Como 1907 would like to extend sincere thanks to Napoli and its fans for the beautiful display of sportsmanship following the match on Friday evening. The atmosphere at the Maradona stadium and reaction of both fans after the game was second to none. This is why Como 1907 will be buying a beer for every travelling Napoli fan at the return leg at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in February 2025," reads the official statement from Cesc Fabregas' side on their socials.
According to 'Sky Sport' journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, similar initiative have taken place before in Como, as pubs in the city have commonly participated in recent years. Como and Napoli are set to face in the return leg on the 23rd of February in matchday 26 of Serie A.
