Gary Neville conveyed the feeling of the 'Football Universe' regarding Cristiano Ronaldo. The Englishman marvelled at the goalscoring ability of the Portugal captain, who is in the midst of Euro 2024.
These were his words on 'ITV': "I can't believe what I've just heard, 895 goals for club and country. It's not right that. I obviously knew he'd scored a few goals but honestly his professionalism, he's never taken a chance once at any point in his career with his preparation."
"He's a phenomenon and one of the greatest that we'll ever see. His dedication and determination to win is incredible. His 895 goals are bordering on illegal. Even in his early days where he was erratic with his performance, he had that determination in him to be the very best," he said.
It is worth remembering that Gary Neville played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United between 2003 and 2009. 15 years on, the former Valencia boss is still in awe of Portugal's leader at the continental showpiece in Germany.
