De Gea's move to Genoa falls through

Genoa will not have David de Gea for the 2024/25 season. The Spanish goalkeeper has salary demands that are not within the reach of all teams despite the interest between the two sides.
According to 'talkSPORT', this is the main reason why the former Manchester United goalkeeper will not be playing in Serie A. At least, at the club coached by Alberto Gilardino.
Serie A does not fetch the same sums as the Premier League. Nottingham Forest tried to sign him last campaign and the conditions were right, but not the goalkeeper's desire.
David de Gea has still not found a place after his departure from Manchester United. He has not played an official match since the 2022/23 FA Cup final at Wembley.
