Ousmane Dembele is still generating a lot of excitement in the transfer window. The Frenchman, who has a contract at Barcelona until 2024 and a clause in his contract of 100 million euros, will just cost 50 million euros between June and July 2023.
The amount will reduced by half and therefore some teams have been trying to lay the foundations to try and persuade him since the turn of the year. One of those is Chelsea, as 'The Sun' points out.
The Frenchman is once again attractive for the West London outfit, who are preparing an attractive offer for Barcelona. That said, the Premier League side are hoping the striker does not negotiate a new deal with Barcelona.
In the meantime, Barca president Joan Laporta said on Tuesday that there is no intention of extending the Frenchman's contract at the moment: "There'll be time to speak about this."
As for Dembele, he is now in the France camp with the national team in Fontainebleu before heading to Qatar for the World Cup. That is a perfect opportunity to shine and either pen a new contract at Barca or move to another club.
