Angel Di Maria has announced his departure from Juventus ahead of next season. The Argentinian was not able to reach an agreement with the club over an extension and will leave the Italian side hardly a year after his arrival, as a free agent.
"The end of a difficult and complicated chapter has arrived. I'm leaving calmly knowing that I gave everything to help the club continue winning titles, but we couldn't", started the Argentinian winger, in a moving post on his Instagram account.
He lamented in the same line: "I leave with the bitter taste of not having made it, but with the happiness of taking with me many friends from the wonderful squad I was part of. Thanks to all my teammates for the love they gave me from the first day, I always felt at home".
"A fond farewell to all the 'juventinos' for their love all this time. A big hug, I take you all with me in my hear", he finished.
At 35 years old, the now-free agent, wants to keep playing top flight football for another year and it looks like Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund could be interested in his services, although nothing is set in stone.
