Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has risked upsetting Everton supporters by claiming he only heard Liverpool fans during Wednesday's intense Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

The historic rivalry saw another dramatic chapter midweek as Everton and Liverpool battled to a chaotic draw. Beto opened the scoring for the hosts before Liverpool responded through Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah.
However, James Tarkowski's stoppage-time equaliser sent Goodison Park into celebration, capping off a fiery contest that saw three red cards shown in the closing moments.
Despite the electric atmosphere, Harvey Elliott downplayed the impact of the Everton crowd. Reflecting on the result, he admitted the draw felt disappointing but remained positive about taking a point from a difficult venue.
"This game feels like a loss. But I think because of everything that happened, we need to look at the bigger picture, you know, and it’s a point on the board at a tough ground," he said.
When asked if he could feel the energy from the home fans, Elliott responded bluntly: "Not really." Pressed further on whether there was a roar from the stands before and during the match, he cheekily added: "Yeah, the Liverpool fans."
