The controversy continues in Turkey. Because Fenerbahce is considering leaving the league. The club made this known in a statement released on Monday after the meeting of its board of directors.
It all stems from the terrible images that came after their 2-3 win over Trabzonspor. The home fans jumped onto the pitch in a pitched battle with several people injured.
Fenerbahce added that it will hold an Extraordinary General Assembly on 2 April to investigate the issue. It will "evaluate the actions to be taken, including the withdrawal of our team from the Super League, on the basis of the events that have occurred," it said in the agenda.
It is worth remembering that Turkish football is not exactly going through its best times. For example, teams have left the pitch early and the president of Ankaragucu assaulted a referee a few months ago.
