After the loss in the Euro 2024 final to Spain, Gareth Southgate resigned from his position as England manager, vowing to take a year out from management. Nevertheless, reports now claim that the 54-year-old could make an early return to coaching, specifically in the Premier League.
Southgate was initially rumoured to take over from Ten Hag at Manchester United due to the Dutchman's disappointing start to the 2024/2025 season. But according to the 'Guardian', Crystal Palace could instead be his next desination.
The club from London are currently led by Glanse, who has given Palace their joint-worst start to a Premier League season. The Eagles find themselves in the relegation zone after failing to pick up a single win in the opening 8 matches so far - their 3 points have all come from draws.
The 'Mirror' reports that Glanse has been given a deadline until the November international break - four matches - to turn things around at the club. Palace have history with Southgate, as he was given the captain's armband at the age of 23 before leading the side to their First Division title in the 1993-94 season.
