After 20 days of negotiations, Newell's Old Boys reached an agreement for the Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas to become a new player of the Rosario-based team for the 2025 season.
According to sources at the club, "in the next 48 hours Keylor Navas will arrive at Newell's Old Boys to undergo a medical and sign his contract, which will be for one year and extendable to one more by mutual agreement between the two parties".
The experienced 38-year-old Costa Rica international goalkeeper arrives at Newell's Old Boys after a six-month spell on the sidelines following spells at Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Nottingham Forest, among others.
After talks with San Lorenzo, Chile's Colo Colo and Gremio, Keylor Navas has finally agreed terms with Newell's Old Boys, who are relying on the San Jose-born player to improve on an otherwise forgettable 2024 season.
