The disaster which occurred in Turkey in the middle of last week is still affecting a large part of the population. 10 days on, many people are still missing such as former Newcastle player Christian Atsu.
That made many of the country's clibs send donations and trucks with supplies to those in the worst hit areas. Galatasaray are among them.
Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek confirmed in a press conference that the majority of the Turkish side's players donated their wages to the victims. "Many of our players gave up their salaries to help the victims of the earthquake."
Spanish footballer Juan Mata and Argentinian player Mauro Icardi are among those who reportedly offered their salaries. They are two of those who only joined the Istanbul outfit last summer.
