Alejandro Garnacho has been criticised in recent days for his poor form since the start of the 2023/24 season, having only scored once for Manchester United in the Carabao Cup.
The Argentinian winger had not scored a goal in the Premier League or Champions League this campaign. However, the 19-year-old ended his goal drought in the English top-flight on Sunday.
Garnacho, who has spent his entire professional career playing for United, opened the scoring in the third minute from inside the box with a superb bicycle kick.
He received a pass from Diogo Dalot from the left flank and netted an acrobatic goal that will be much talked about. His opener has been compared to the one Wayne Rooney scored against Manchester City in 2011.

Nonetheless, the 19-year-old was reminded of the goal scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he has admitted several times that he admires very much as a footballer, for Real Madrid against Juventus in the Champions League. So much so that Garnacho celebrated his wonderstrike by imitating the Portuguese star.
The striker's goal will be remembered as one of the best goals of the 2023/24 season and of the Premier League in turn.
"I don't think I've ever been in a stadium where I've seen an overhead kick as good as that, and I was there on the day Rooney scored in the Manchester derby. That was unbelievable, what we've just seen," Gary Neville commented after watching Manchester United's opener.
