And so they are doing. Erling Haaland took just three minutes to open the scoring to give his team the lead. The Norwegian star scored Manchester City's first Premier League goal of the new season.
The Sky Blues won a corner-kick and Kevin De Bruyne took it. Rodri, who was one of Guardiola's key players last season, received the ball after a pass from Bernardo Silva and crossed to Haaland, who scored the opener from close range.
If the game ends this way, the Etihad Stadium outfit would have the first three points of this season in the English top-flight.
