Thibaut Courtois finished the Madrid derby with a muscular problem that prevented him from getting out of the goal in the last plays of the match and, as confirmed by Carlo Ancelotti, he will undergo medical tests on Monday to determine if he has to stop due to injury.
“Fran Garcia has a nasty knock and Courtois has had a muscular problem. He will undergo tests tomorrow,” Ancelotti revealed at a press conference.
Depending on the result of the tests that the Belgian will undergo, Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin could play his first minutes of the season on Wednesday, on the second day of the Champions League, in Real Madrid's visit to Lille.
This is yet another injury setback for the Belgian goalkeeper, who spent most of last season sidelined after rupturing his cruciate ligament and then suffering a relapse of the injury.
