FC Barcelona's coach Hansi Flick said in Lisbon after the Catalan team's comeback in the Champions League match against Benfica (4-5) that they “came from behind”, that “that's football” and that “that's why” they love it.
Barcelona came back from 4-2 down with a stoppage-time goal from Raphinha, a match the German coach described as “very crazy”. “We came from behind; that's football, that's why we love it,” Flick said.
“I don't think so, I've never experienced a comeback like that,” the German coach recalled. Flick explained that in the first half Barcelona did not play so well and praised Benfica's good transitions.
“They made us defend very deep, in the second half we were much better and the substitutions helped us,” argued the coach.
Questioned about the mistakes made by Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, Flick stated that it is normal because “what player doesn't make mistakes? It's not one player, it's the whole team. We win together and lose together,” Flick concluded.
