Leo Messi could be living his last months as a Paris Saint-Germain player. The Argentine's contract with the French club expires on 30th June 2023 and, although it seemed that he was very close to renewing it, there is now rumours to the contrary.
The journalist Gerard Romero, creator and host of the channel 'Jijantes', assured, on Monday afternoon, that the Argentine striker has no intention of extending his contract with PSG. At least, that would be his idea "as of today", as the aforementioned source remarked on several occasions.
Following on from this information, it seems that the World Cup title in Qatar has played a big part in '30's decision. Messi has already lifted the trophy he has longed for and finally led Argentina to the top, so his priorities have reportedly changed in recent weeks.
This information contrasts with what was rumoured before and even during the World Cup. It seemed that PSG, through a huge contract, had convinced the player to stay at the Parc des Princes. In fact, the "yes" was a certainty and all that remained to be decided was the length of the contract, which ranged from one season, two seasons or the famous 1+1.
