Paris Saint-Germain are looking everywhere for an out for Kylian Mbappe, but it's proving very tricky for the French champions. After the striker refused to even meet with Saudi side Al-Hilal, who offered a staggering €300 million for the French international, it looked like PSG would have to turn elsewhere.
Rumours surfaced last week, suggesting that Liverpool were in talks with the French club over a potential loan move next season, but now it appears far from likely to be on the cards at Anfield.
Speaking to 'Sky Germany', Reds manager Jurgen Klopp laughed off the speculation, declaring "there's nothing to it" and feels he's unlikely to be surprised by his club of eight seasons.
"We laugh about it!" he admitted. "I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all. I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it".
"But it’s possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me, but that hasn’t happened in the eight years that I’ve been here. That would be the first time!".
