Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has shared a picture of himself coaching a number of boys at his football academy in Cologne on social media. In the midst of a flurry of transfer rumours from various parts of the international press, Toni Kroos shared an image on his Instagram stories showing a child wearing Kylian Mbappe's shirt. It happened this weekend, when the German was in Cologne to take part in several training sessions at the academy he runs in his home country. The fans, for obvious reasons, made the content go viral.
The Paris Saint-Germain star striker is rumoured to join Real Madrid and this summer has been a new wave of leaks and articles about it. This, of course, is understandable, as it was made public that he himself had conveyed to the Parc des Princes board that he did not intend to activate the option to renew his contract in the French capital for one more season than already agreed.
This means that he could leave for 'Los Blancos' as a free agent next year or do so during the current transfer window to leave a large sum of money in the coffers of the team where he has become one of the best on the planet. The club's board are clear, as they made clear at Luis Enrique's press conference to present him as coach of the squad, that they will not allow him to leave for free.
The tug-of-war between the possibility of Madrid buying him in the next few months or waiting one more season with the risk that would imply - PSG would have much more room for negotiation to convince him of another extension - is the order of the day on social media and that is why Kroos' story has gained so many interactions. He is unlikely to have missed it, but he wouldn't have minded. After all, he didn't say anything.
