Barcelona once again have a generational talent on their hands. Just as it was with Lionel Messi, the club now finds itself with Lamine Yamal, a player even more precocious than the Argentine.
At just 17 years old, the Spanish winger has already reached the remarkable feat of 100 appearances. The team's victory over Rayo Vallecano marked a small but significant achievement in his still-short career.
Despite not yet reaching adulthood, he has already made a century of appearances, becoming indispensable for both Hansi Flick and Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente. Yamal’s 100 games are split between 83 appearances for Barcelona and 17 for the Spanish national team, with whom he claimed the 2024 European Championship this past summer, his first major title where he played a starring role.
The teams that have seen the best of Yamal's performances are Athletic and Granada, especially the latter, against whom he has scored three goals in two appearances. He has also netted three against Athletic, though in five matches.
However, it was his stunning goal for Spain in the recent Euro 2024 final against France - a diagonal strike into the top corner, that truly captured the imagination of fans and cemented his status as the future star he is.
In total, Lamine Yamal has scored 21 goals and provided 28 assists, a remarkable tally for a player yet to turn 18.
