Chelsea announced on Thursday that Frank Lampard will take charge of the English side until the end of the season. The Englishman previously managed the Blues from July 2019 until January 2021, when he was replaced by Thomas Tuchel.
His unexpected move back to Stamford Bridge came after Tuchel's successor Graham Potter was dismissed on Sunday with the club in the bottom half of the Premier League.
The 44-year-old has already held his first press conference as new manager ahead of the game against Wolves: "It was a surprise in terms of you never know the decision the club are going to make. I've been particularly enjoying my time at home," he said.
"It was an easy decision for me because this is my club. I'm also a very practical person, I've been on a different path since I left Chelsea but to come back as I've been asked and be back here with a belief that I can help until the end of the season is really great.
"I'm delighted to get the opportunity and I'm thankful. I've a good understanding of the squad, the training ground, the stadium and the fans and I'll do my best," Lampard concluded.
