Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to reinforce his defence in the January transfer window in order to continue the Reds' good results in recent games. The German coach believes that what he lacks in his squad is an extra centre-back.
As a result, according to reports in England, Liverpool's board has travelled to Brazil to negotiate with Brazilian club Sao Paulo for the transfer of Lucas Beraldo.
The 19-year-old has stood out with his performances in recent games and has caught the eye of the English side. The Anfield outfit are willing to offer £20 million for his services in the January transfer window but Beraldo's club could ask for more for his transfer.
Beraldo helped his current team win the Copa do Brasil this year with his performances and was monitored by Liverpool scouts in Sao Paulo's 1-0 win over Cruzeiro last week.
The Reds have had problems in defence in recent games as Virgil van Dijk has struggled to find his best form this campaign. The Brazilian centre-back could be the solution to all of Jurgen Klopp's problems.
