Ibrahima Konate has ruled himself out from the Premier League showdown against Man City on Sunday, as he confirmed that he has picked up an injury via an instagram post on Friday.

Manchester City and Liverpool go up against each other on Sunday in what will be a crucial game for the Premier League title race. It will be Slot's head-to-head with Guardiola, however, the Dutchman will count a big absence for the clash as Ibrahima Konate will not be able to play at Anfield.
The defender ruled himself out of featuring as he issued an injury update on Friday. "So frustrating to pick up this injury right at the end of a great game on Wednesday night," Konate wrote via an Instagram post. "Now we start the recovery process but one thing I promise is I will come back and be the best I can be once again".
The Frenchman played the full 90-minutes in the Champions League win against Real Madrid midweek, but was seen hobbling off the pitch after the final whistle. "Thank you for the amazing support at Anfield. Inshallah we will keep going and I will support the team every step of the way," he concluded.
Joe Gomez is now tipped to start in defence alongside captain Virgil van Dijk for Sunday's clash, though Jarell Quansah is also available to take on the centre-back role. The 21-year-old last started in Liverpool's Carabao Cup fixture at Brighton, but is yet to start in the English top-flight.
