Jurgen Klopp's hunt for a defensive midfielder came to an end last Friday. The Reds landed Wataru Endo from Bundesliga side Stuttgart for 20 million euros.
The 30-year-old completed medical tests on Thursday and put pen to paper to play in a Liverpool shirt for the 2023/24 season. The midfielder has fulfilled a dream by being able to play in the Premier League, said his former manager Sebastian Hoeness.
This is also something the former Stuttgart man made clear in his first interview when asked if he had any message for Reds fans: "I am very excited to join this club and I am looking forward to seeing you at Anfield.
The midfielder also showed his passion for legend Steven Gerrard when asked if he used to watch Liverpool games when he was in Japan: "Yeah, yeah. When I was a kid, I often watched Premier League games with my father. I liked [Steven] Gerrard and I often watched how he played. I often watched Liverpool games.
