Luis Diaz, who joined Liverpool for the 2021/22 season, was being linked with a move to Spanish clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. However, the Reds were quicker and managed to secure his services in 2022.
His father Mane Diaz has not ruled out the Colombian winger playing in La Liga in the future, in fact, he wants to see his son playing in Spain despite his comforts in England. He also spoke of the alleged interest of Spanish clubs in the 27-year-old.
"There was never anything serious with Real Madrid or Atletico [in 2022]. Liverpool were always more determined and concrete to sign Luis." he told 'Cadena SER'.
Mane Diaz went on to add: "We haven't lost our hope yet. Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market."
