Former French footballer Jeremy Mathieu has spoken in an interview for 'BeIN Sports France' about Spanish coach Luis Enrique and how he felt under him. "He doesn't talk to you much and doesn't give you too much confidence," he said.
Mathieu says he had a tough time at the end of his time at Barcelona. He started out playing an important role, but in his third season he dropped down the pecking order at the Catalan side. He still doesn't know why: "Maybe that's the way he works. I think that's how Luis Enrique works".
On the other hand, the Frenchman explained the role that Luis Enrique played in his arrival at Barcelona: "It was him who wanted me and we met in secret to agree the signing". It is worth remembering that Mathieu arrived at Barcelona from Valencia for 20 million euros.
Jeremy Mathieu's track record with the Catalan giants in his three seasons at the club is not bad. He has won two La Liga titles, one Champions League, three Copa del Rey, one Spanish Super Cup, one European Super Cup and one Club World Cup.
