Kylian Mbappe has been on Real Madrid's agenda for years. Although he came close to joining the Spanish giants in 2022, he ended up renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. However, that hasn't stopped his name remaining on Carlo Ancelotti's wish-list.
According to Spanish outlet 'AS', 'Los Blancos' are still considering securing his services. His contract with the Parisian side expires in 2024 and he could join the La Liga outfit as a free agent.
The same media outlet reports that Madrid plan to make him an official offer in early January but he will have to accept or reject it before 15th January as they do not want Mbappe to change his mind at the last minute.
However, his transfer is not crucial for the Spanish club as they have a plan B. They want to move for Erling Haaland if the French striker decides not to change his destination.
The Norwegian has a buyout clause of €200 million to leave at the end of this season but the transfer fee is being reduced as time goes on. Madrid are planning their future projects and need a striker. Karim Benzema left a gaping hole in the squad and they want to fill it as soon as possible.
