Madrid target Mastantuono signs new River Plate deal
River Plate have made official the renewal of their player Franco Mastantuono until 2026. The Argentinian extends his contract for one more year and thwarts Real Madrid's plans to make an offer in 2025, when he would come of age. The 'Millonario' will protect his young promise with a clause of 45 million euros, the highest in football in Argentina.

Franco Mastantuono is distancing himself from Real Madrid due to his one-year renewal with River Plate. The club presided over by Florentino Perez had intended to make a formal offer for the player in 2025, when he comes of age.
The 'Millonario' has secured his young promise with an 'anti-Madrid' clause. If the Spanish team wants to get his services they will have to pay 45 million euros. This is the highest amount in Argentinian football. In addition, this will increase for those offers that arrive in the last 10 days of the market. The figure would go up to 50 million.
On the other hand, River and the Argentine's camp have reached an agreement to extend his contract until 2027. This would happen in January 2025 when FIFA regulations allow it. In the meantime, the club is assured of keeping its player for a longer period of time.
From the newspaper 'Sport', they point out that this strategic move benefits FC Barcelona, a team that also wants him, as well as PSG. The Catalan media says that the Catalan team could not enter the bidding for the playmaker today and this extension of the agreement gives Barca room to clean up their accounts.
Franco Mastantuono's development seems to be good and he is starting to be included in Martin Demichelis' plans. This season he has played 10 games and scored 1 goal. His performance is not going unnoticed by some of the best European clubs.
