Manchester City need to look to the future after losing Riyad Mahrez to Saudi side Al-Ahli. There are two names in contention in the offices of the Etihad to fill the vacancy: Michael Olise, now joined by Jeremy Doku.
According to journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the English champions are interested in the 21-year-old Rennes winger. The young Belgian had also been on the radar of Aston Villa, before Unai Emery ultimately signed Bayer Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby.
Having played three seasons with the Ligue 1 side, Doku still has two years remaining on his contract in France, and featured in Rennes' 3-1 victory over West Ham on Sunday.
He scored seven goals and provided four assists in his last campaign, and has impressed sufficiently, despite some injury concerns, that the champions of Europe are knocking on his door.
