Rodrigo Hernandez continues to prove a key part of a Manchester City side aiming to replicate the treble they won last season. The Spanish midfielder was again crucial as he scored a late equaliser to help the Sky Blues snatch a point from Chelsea that could prove decisive in the race for the Premier League title.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praised the defensive midfielder's incredible form, claiming he is the best in the world in his position well ahead of the second.
"The holding midfielder has to play positive, for him and for the team, and make the team play. This is the role for the holding midfielders. All the highlights have to be for. But Rodri always has the ability in important moments to score goals so he’s an unbelievable player, he said.
"He’s the best midfield player in the world currently by far because he is able to do everything. What a signing. It’s difficult to understand how we could have done what we have done in recent years without him," concluded the Spanish coach.
