Man United fans couldn't have asked for a better start to life without Erik ten Hag as manager. Casemiro opened the floodgates for his side at the 15th minute with a stunning goal from long-range. Garnacho doubled the lead at the 38th minute, but Steve Cooper's men managed to stay in the game thanks to a wonderful low-driven shot from El Khannouss just three minutes later. Two goals in quick succession from Fernandes and Casemiro again almost sealed the game for United at half time, but a fortunate goal from Coady meant that the Red Devils' job was not over yet. The Brazilian could've got a hat-trick within the first 45 minutes of the clash, but his header was just wide. The second half was much slower in pace, as the Foxes tried to put pressure on the hosts. Nevertheless, Bruno Fernandes ended Leicester's hopes as he seized the opportunity to score from Okoli's costly error in defence. With the win, Van Nistelrooy gets his first win as interim manager and Man United progress into the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup.
