Erik ten Hag is back in the spotlight after Manchester United's failure in the Champions League after the defeat against Bayern. The Red Devils finished bottom of the group and could not even get the consolation prize of playing in the Europa League.
The rumours about the Dutch manager's departure are nothing new as several candidates have already been rumoured to replace him, including Spain's Julen Lopetegui. According to reports from The Sun, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who struck a multi-million pound deal to take control of the club, has reportedly met with former Chelsea boss Graham Potter to replace Ten Hag.
The England manager has been jobless since leaving the Blues, this week reportedly declining to take over from Alex Neil at Championship side Stoke City. Graham Potter is said to be waiting for a 'major job' rather than dropping down the Championship ladder. However, Ten Hag will not give up the job without a fight and will support his team all the way, as he said after the defeat to Bayern.
“There's still many things to play for. And now we can focus, of course, on the Premier League and this is the level we want to play, Champions League. So, we have to give every effort in to be in the top four so, next year, we are back in the Champions League," said Ten Hag.
"Then, of course, the FA Cup. So, there’s still many things to play for. I look to my team and, yeah, we had opportunities in games and we were in winning positions. I think we scored many goals," added the Red Devils boss.
