Donny van de Beek missed most of the 2022/23 season due to a knee injury but he hasn't had many opportunities since arriving from Ajax in 2020.
The 28-year-old has made 60 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring just two goals and assisting twice since he first arrived at Old Trafford. In addition, he was loaned to Everton for the 2021/22 season.
As a result, according to the 'BBC', the board are looking for a new destination for him for next season. Erik ten Hag is gradually reinforcing and rebuilding his squad to be successful in the Champions League.
The same media outlet reports that La Liga side Real Sociedad are currently negotiating with the English side to sign Van de Beek this summer. The Dutch midfielder is likely to accept his departure as he has no place in the coach's starting eleven.
Nonetheless, the transfer fee is unknown and the Spanish side have not yet submitted an opening bid for him.
