For the first time since last season, Bayern winger Sadio Mane has spoken about the altercation he had with teammate Leroy Sane following a loss to Man City in the Champions League last season.
Speaking on Senegalese TV channel '2sTV', Mane reflected on the incident, saying "This kind of things can happen. It happened. We were able to solve this small problem. Sometimes it's good to solve problems, but maybe not in this way. It's behind us now. We'll try to fight together to help the club achieve its goals next season".
Mane received a one-match ban and a 300,000 euro fine following the incident, and it sums up fairly well his "complicated" and fairly disappointing season in the Bundesliga.
"It was a very complicated season, it happens. It wasn't a surprise, I expected things to be a bit complicated. It's normal. I love challenges, and Bayern is a big challenge. It's up to me to do everything to meet this challenge", he acknowledged.
German outlet 'Bild' report that the former Liverpool star is on a seven-player list to leave Bayern this summer, but Mane appears to have other plans. He finished the interview saying, "If everything goes well, I'm going to return to Bayern", despite links to his exit.
