Mbappe can reach Ronaldo's level at Real Madrid, says Ancelotti

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti assured that Kylian Mbappe, scorer of the three goals in the 3-1 win over Manchester City, “has the quality to reach Cristiano Ronaldo's level”, and recommended him to “work” to be able to reach the Portuguese star's goals.
“He has the quality to reach Cristiano Ronaldo's level. He has to work because Cristiano put the flagpole very high and he has started now in this club. For the quality he has and the illusion he can reach Cristiano's level but it is not going to be so simple, he has to work,” he said at a press conference.
Ancelotti valued the image left by his team in the tie against Manchester City at a time when he acknowledged that he has found the key to his team to achieve the desired balance he was looking for.
“We are in the fight, we had a high quality team in front of us and it has been complicated to find the balance between attack and defense, at last we have achieved it, we have a chance to go far in the competition,” he acknowledged.
“We have reinforced the good things from the first leg, we played a complete game offensively, defensively, with and without the ball. The team has worked very well without the ball and the quality is very high, we have opportunities in attack like we have never had in the past years,” he added.
The Madrid coach admitted that the loss of Erling Haaland to injury at Manchester City caused his opponent to lose “a lot of power in attack” and pointed out that a good start to the match was key. “It started well because we scored very early and then we controlled it well. It has taken us ten games to reach the round of 16 and now Atletico and Leverkusen are rivals we respect a lot.”
“We are on the right track, we have found the level of the team, it has cost us a lot and now we have to work to be at this level and if possible improve it. Now we are entering a complicated period with La Liga, Copa del Rey semifinals, Champions League round of 16. There is no way to stop. On an emotional level, this tie has been good for us,” he said.
