As Lionel Messi gets further and further away from Paris Saint-Germain and gets closer and closer to a return to Barcelona, PSG are pulling out their last straws to keep him - Kylian Mbappe. According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the France captain would like to continue developping at the Argentine's side.
It must be said that, since Neymar picked up his serious injury, the chemistry between the two doesn't need to be proved anymore, despite not being there in either leg against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
They go looking for each other a lot, finding each other often. In the last two games against Lens and Angers showed it once more. For the third Paris goal, which Messi scored, the two players linked up with one-touch play: Messi passed it to Mbappe, who layed it back off to him with a back-heel.
When going up against Ligue 1's last placed side, it was the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner who grabbed two assists for Mbappe's brace, the perfect combination.
Since Messi arrived in August 2021, the Argentine has provided Mbappe with 19 assists, and the Frenchman has returned the favour 11 times. Unfortunately for Kylian Mbappe, if the world champion is to leave the French side, the two stars will only be sharing six more games left on the pitch together.
