Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said on Tuesday that he has "a lot of respect" for Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, who he said is the best player of all time, but the Argentine said that on the debate between CR7 and his compatriot Leo Messi - of whom he was a teammate at FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team, and who he now manages at the American club - he has his "own thoughts, which is not that, nothing more".
"They are opinions. Obviously I have a lot of respect for Cristiano and I don't have to be analysing his opinion. That's what he thinks. I also have my own way of thinking, which is not that. Nothing else," Mascherano told an Inter Miami press conference.
Al Nassr Saudi Arabian striker Cristiano Ronaldo said in an interview published by ‘La Sexta’ that he considers himself the best football player in history.
"I think so, I haven't seen anyone better than me. I tell you that from the bottom of my heart," Cristiano replied when asked about it.
Mascherano, who shared a dressing room with Messi at Barcelona and in the Argentina national team, has always expressed his appreciation for the World Cup winner.
