Los Blancos will play the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna on Saturday and face Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday. However, Real Madrid are still planning their squad for next season.
According to 'Relevo', the Spanish side and Luka Modric have reached an agreement to renew his contract until June 2024. The same media outlet reports that they will make the renewal official in the next few days when the new contract is signed.
Florentino Perez contacted the Croatia international a month ago when there were rumours of his possible departure and an offer of 40 million euros from a Saudi club. The negotiations went smoothly and quickly as both parties were willing to make a deal.
Modric will remain on the same salary he is currently on and will still be one of the highest paid players in the squad behind Benzema and Hazard. The former Tottenham midfielder trained with his teammates in the last training sessions before the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna and could start.
